Tour description: Discouver the spirit, strength, and artistry of Japanese Americans in old War II incarceration camps by looking at objects collected from local Japanese American communiy members. Tourss will give insight inot World War II history sa the objects tell both personal and local community stories around Executive Order 9066, which mandated the mass removl and inarceration of 110,000 Japanese Americans. The Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Washington as a historic Issei Legacy Site, the buildings further connect exhibition tours with its own histories during immigration, incarceration, resettlement and redress.
